In the next three weeks, including Easter, we will be concluding the Matthew series which we began at Advent. The series has included a look at the Beatitudes, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Parables.
The final three sermons will concentrate on the Cross and its significance for disciples of Jesus. The first sermon is The Cruciform (cross-shaped) Church which is a look at how the cross shapes our lives.
The second sermon is called The Passover and concerns itself with the way in which the Passover is thematic and biblical theology and points to the cross.
The final sermon, “Disarming the Powers,” show how the cross is much, much more than a payment for the penalty of our sins. The cross was the instrument of disarming the spiritual powers that enslave human beings.
We hope you will be able to hear all three sermons because of the important place that the Cross occupies in the lives of the followers of Jesus.
