Thoughts from Sunday
We began something on Sunday about which I am really happy. Our young men are now passing the communion trays during the Lord’s Supper. And they did a very wonderful service to us all!. Thanks to Wyatt and Melvin for their mature and willing service.
My goal is to train them to be responsible for staffing this important task so that others can share in this task rather than having Bruce do this every Sunday. Look for changes in what I’m going to call “ushering” very soon.
Star took a tumble Sunday morning near the bottom of the Studio stairs. Apparently, one of our kiddos spilled water and make the last step or two treacherous. Some of our LifeSpring mothers suggested that water should not be so readily available to our children, so beginning Sunday, July 2, we will no longer put water out on the bar. Bev will have water available upstairs for her class. Parents will be responsible for getting water for the downstairs kids and making sure it is drunk rather than used as a toy.
BTW, Star secured no injuries, for which we are very thankful.
Want a movie recommendation? The Shack is a wonderful story about a man’s encounter with God. You’ll be surprised, stimulated, and inspired by its message. Based on a book by the same title, the story got generous praise as well as deep criticism by the religious community which makes it even more intriguing and worth seeing. The Logues and the Barnes have both seen it in case you want further information.
