The sermon for Sunday comes from Exodus 33 and it concerns that crisis that erupted when the ancient Jews crafted a golden calf to alleviate their fear of Yahweh.
There is an interesting interaction between Moses and God regarding God’s anger and refusal to accompany Israel any further. God basically told Moses that God was done with them. The sculpting of the golden calf was the final straw, so to speak.
In this sermon we will think about what would happen if God was not present in our lives. We will also look at the transactional relationship that Moses and other had with this God and why that is important to us today.
Question:
- Have you ever wondered if God was present in your life?
- What do you think may or may not contribute to God’s absence in one’s life?
